Metamorphosis – Es tanzt ein Bi Ba Butzemann ...

La Mariposa is more than a butterfly. It is a cave with a very special architecture and a hidden place with hidden places. The points of view are definetly spectacular. There is a watermill which produces this Gofio from here, and it smells like Cornflakes. The parking place is 350m away along an exciting path with head lamps and an adventure in your head. Take that.

It is actually a full and spacious cave with 3 open and one separate bedrooms as caves in a cave, an extraordinary bathroom, beautiful terraces and a full equipped kitchen. Inside the cave you have a constant temperature of 20°, nevertheless we have a heating. Whatever weather you will have outside, the cave itself is completely natural air conditioned.
There is also a little pool (height 1,20m), a barbecue and a huge lovely garden. The points of view are spectacular.

One of the best night sky you have ever seen in your life.
Beaches and fishing villages by car about 35-50min, depending where you go.
The Risco Caído and the Sacred Mountains of Gran Canaria, an astronomical heritage (and world heritage in late progress). You reach Máspalomas inbetween two hours, through the mountains or on the highway along the coastline.
The first mighty mountain of the Biosphere Reserve Tamadaba.
Excellent hiking and biking (by moto, too) starting just outside the cave.
Historical villages and testimonies of centuries-old ways of life.
Barranco Hondo is the village in the mountains, fully native, charming and secret, that represents the original way of life since more than 2000 years. A rental car is highly recommended - from here you are able to explore the whole island.

A key feature, however, has the new cave: the way leads along a narrow, beautiful path, which is from the parking lot and like 300m long; five minutes walk). The way from the main road to the parking lot has another 450m and drives well (paved).
