links and a much lower volume of traffic than your average city. Made for walking, the city is built around a network 17th century canals that give Amsterdam its famous, unique charm. At night, the city comes alive with its unforgettable shop-window style Red Light district and plethora of night-life venues. Though the city has a lot to offer culturally too. Works by Van Gogh and Rembrandt are on show the Rijksmusuem and Vangogh museum. The place where Anne Frank hid during the second world wars is also now a very famous museum.

Amsterdam is not particularly famous for its food though if hearty and filling meat plates are enough to satisfy your tastes then you can't go far wrong in Amsterdam, though there are plenty of international restaurants across the city.
